In
the Brush Docker, the roll-up of Dab Attributes controls the Number of dabs,
the Spacing of them, the Spread and Hue, Saturation and Lightness applied
when any of the brush tools are used.
A Dab is the area covered by the nib of a brush.
When the brush is dragged, a brush stroke is created: even though a brush
stroke looks like a solid swoosh of pixels, it is composed of a series of
overlapping dabs.
A greater distance between the dabs affects the smoothness of the stroke. |

Number of Dabs: this setting controls how
many dabs are applied to the image with each single click of the pen or
the mouse.
This attribute has a range of 1-25 dabs. Normally this value is set to 1,
an exception is when the brush stroke has a spread value, then, multiple
dabs can be applied over a larger area. Spacing: it
sets the distance, in pixels, between dabs.
To create a brush stroke, the pointing device draws a line across the image
and dabs are applied to the line at the frequency determined by the spacing
settings. Spread: as the brush stroke moves along
a line, this setting controls how far, in pixels, each dab can be off the
stroke centerline. |
